Programs

The One Tot Stop Day Care offers a variety of early learning programs. We provide care to children ages 18 months to 12 years in our Massey programs. In our A. B. Ellis site, we are licensed to provide care for children from birth to 12 years.

The daily routine includes time for exploratory play with a variety of education and creative materials and equipment. Group activities are planned to further enhance social/emotional, gross motor, and cognitive development. Children in our socialization, half day or full day programs will participate in learning circles, creative arts, school readiness activities, free play, and outdoor gross motor activities. Children practice self-help skills and courtesy. Healthy snacks and a hot lunch are provided.

We provide various programs for each age grouping.

About

The One Tot Stop Day Care is a non profit child care centre and is licensed by the Ministry of Education. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. T.O.T.S. has been providing child care to families in the Massey area since 1994. In 2007 we expanded to include Espanola in our service area. We have child care centres in S. Geiger School and St. Mary School in Massey, and A. B. Ellis School in Espanola.

We are very pleased with the quality of education and care that is provided to all of our clients by our Early Childhood Educators and assistants. In January 2011 we opened a infant/toddler/preschool/school age program in the A.B. Ellis School.  In 2016, we moved into a newly renovated space in the new A. B. Ellis School on Mead Blvd.

Our Philosophy

The One Tot Stop Day Care’s program is based on our belief that each child is a unique individual. We promote a holistic approach recognizing the importance of facilitating growth and development in all areas (emotional, social, cognitive, and physical). This approach also recognizes the child as a member of the family unit and the family’s significance to the child.

We adhere to the philosophy that co-operation rather than competitiveness should be encouraged. It is not only important that children feel safe, secure and loved, but it is also essential that parents have the same confidence in the centre so that learning can take place to its fullest.

The integration of special needs children in our centre supports our fundamental philosophy that all children, regardless of abilities, have the right to maximize their potential. Our program is developed to meet individual needs and to facilitate growth toward independence for all children.
